What is a Haiku? Haiku is a traditional form of Japanese poetry which comprises of three lines each in a certain metrical pattern. The first line has 5 syllables, the second has 7 and the third once again has 5. In Japanese, these syllables are called "on" which is short for onji. Haiku is typically compromised of a story of simple objects, daily activity and some referendum to the natural world.
